The Journey

On the set of Logan Lucky shooting scenes with Dwight Yocum and Daniel Craig. Daniel and I were prisoners and Dwight was the warden.

3-23-2014 Eaton's Beach..I have boycotted this place due to their unethical business practices and will never play there again.

Some crazy fun at The Castaways for Bike Week 2014. They tried to put a tent over me for some shade..... (fail) :-D

Stuart Smith, Bob Melton, and Anthony Realmuto before Bob's interview for the Gary Stewart documentary

Doing one of my favorite Gary Stewart songs during the interview for the documentary film about his life. 3-6-2914.

Orange Blossom Opry 2-27-2014. I will be her almost every Thursday now. I will be doing a featured Friday show on April 25th also.

I had fun playing at The Roost in Astor this past Saturday night. Kind of cool out but thanks to everybody that stuck it out. A special thanks also to old friend and classmate Lee Nelson and wife Jo for surprising me and for this photo.

Thursday night at The Orange Blossom Opry. I will be doing a Friday night show on April 25th as the featured performer on the cast show.

The first All Star Jam at the American Legion by The Villages on Jan 23ed 2014. Sold out show with The Notebenders. I was recuperating from minor surgery two days before and couldn't use a guitar strap..

Fishing buddies...this was the most interesting photo I got in Ft. Pierce, Gl on Memorial Day weekend.

Friday night 9-7-2012 on the deck at The Pond House in Metter, GA. This photo was not intended as a political statement because of the empty chair onstage behind me. :o) It just turned out that way.....so here is to Clint.

Old friend Richard Hughes joined me with some rhythm guitar on the deck at The Pond House to temporarily fill the "empty chair"..

I really enjoyed this very laid back jam session at The Crimson Moon on 8-9-2012 in the little north Georgia gold mining town of Dahlonega. Great place and lots of great folks there.

With Scottie Tuhotti at The Savannah Friends Of Music benefit in Statesboro, Ga 4-14-2012. Beautiful day, beautiful place, great food, and lots of great folks.

Florida Sunshine Opry 10-15-2011... also pictured is Forrest Rogers on guitar and Brian Goodpaster on stell in the background.

Nov. 18 Super Jam at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale. All the folks there are the best. Incredible people working there, running it, the band is over the top, and the fans are the best I have ever encountered anywhere. Just makes me want to keep coming back. Thanks folks!!

Thanks again to Keith and Marilyn for the photos. You guys are the greatest!! Orange Blossom Opry. 10-21-2010

Bob, Jimmy Smith, and Donnie Coleman at the Gary Stewart Birthday & tribute show at Mother Tucker's in Ft. Pierce May 29th 2010.

Around 1995, Bob was the featured act for a festival at George L. Smith State Park in south Georgia. The Easy People Band from Ft. Pierce, Fl. made the trip to back him up. It was a great time. We also played at Blind Willie's in Statesboro while they were here. From left: Felix Moss, Bob, Howard Folcarelli on drums, Jimmy Smith, and Tommy Schwartz.

First Rock N Roll band I ever played in. The Sand Trippers. We made a record on the Paris Tower label in 1967. I will be adding a page soon about this band. A lot of history behind them.

Kermit & Bob T-Shirt graphic originally used for a "No Buffett,No Problem" show in Alpharetta, Ga. Photo Shopped from The Honeymooners by Bob :o)

Taking care of business. On the road around 1979 at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, TX after a Gary Stewart show.

Just Livin' In These Hard Times...in front of the Manassas, GA post office in Kermit's Silver Bullet custom convertable...Sammy Johnson used a cutting torch to customisze the roof. That is my 1970 Gibson J200 guitar circa 1993.

This was the beginning of a country music odyssey for Rainbow, Bingo, and Boogie...Fly was already country :) The Phoenix at the D&D shopping center in Okeechobee, FL summer of 1973. That is the same '69 Telecaster I was playing recently at the Orange Blossom Opry...37 years later :o) From left: Darrell Dawson, Howard Folcarelli, Fly Hornsby, Bob Melton.

New Year's Day 1974. The Phoenix. LtoR: Fred Bogert, Fly Hornsby, Howard Folcarelli, Darrell Dawson, Bob Melton.

This was Gary Stewart's original touring backup band before hiring a drummer and going on the road. The Aberdeen Rockfish Railroad did lots of bluegrass arrangements of music by rock and roll groups like the Beatles, Eagles and others. Very original concept for 1975, as was long haired bluegrass groups :)

Gary Stewart and Bob at a concert to celebrate "She's Actin' Single" hitting #1 on Billboard. 1976. It is hard to see here, but I am playing my 1966 customized Fender Mustang with Fender Humbucking pickups. What a screaming guitar!!

Onstage with Gary Stewart and the HTLA at the Palamino in North Hollywood, CA in Feb. 1980. From left Ralph Profetta on steel guitar, Bob Melton guitar, Gary Stewart, Mickey Raphael on harmonica, Darrell Dawson bass guitar, John Whalen guitar, T Ray Miller guitar.

On horseback with The Honky Tonk Liberation Army in Alamo Village 1979. Left to right..Bingo, Rainbow, Boogie, The King Of The Honky Tonks, and Tuck.

Early 70s in Ft. Pierce, FL. Gibson Country Western model acoustic. Great guitar that I got in a trade from Danny Moye around 1972.

Good friend and awesome harmonica/flute player Scott Welcker and wife Joy with Bob's tour bus in the background at Magnolia State Park in south Georgia during gnat season. Nice hat Scott...

Bob and Kermit with Chuck Hughlett and his wife Charlotte at Dingus McGee's 30th Anniversary party 2009.

With Joey Hamilton at his house in Atlanta after playing for his birthday party. (He makes me look little)

1969 with my '62 MK II Jag. Hollywood Hills in L.A. on North Crescent Heights Blvd. Across the street and in front of my house with Dennis Hopper's house in the background. Nice to have crazy neighbors :o)

Tuning up in West Palm Beach, FL at the Dutchman Lounge in the early 70s where, as stated on the sign in the background, The Phoenix was touted to be the best Country Rock Band in The Palm Beaches, and they were....:o)

Bob, Canadian superstar :)Ronnie Prophet, and two BMI executives in Nashville 1985 at an industry charity Golf event. I was there representing Larry Butler/CBS Music Publishing, and I had the low score in our group :o) Just found an American Music Top 25 sheet from 6-11-1976 where Ronnie had the #15 song "It's Enough". Gary Stewart was at #12 that week with a brand new release "In Some Room Above The Street". It was one of over 20 top ten records Gary had during the 70s.

Onstage at the Strawberry Festival in Poteet, TX in 1979. My Gibson 77 RD Artist guitar. This ax had the best neck of any electric guitar I ever owned. It had a crazy sound too....
